Senior Archaeologist in the Las Vegas area to support our recently awarded 10 year contract with the Department of Defense (DoD). This is a full-time position with a very competitive salary, healthcare benefits and 401K. Salary range is $100k – $150k depending upon experience.

This position would require attaining a DoD TS clearance and once granted access into the program a significant increase in compensation. The primary work location is on the NTTR however much of the research and report writing work in offices located in Las Vegas, NV.

Responsibilities

The senior archaeologist will be responsible for conducting cultural resource surveys in support of NEPA and in compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) Sections 106 and 110. The archaeologist shall assist the Government’s cultural resource manager and lead archaeologist with cultural projects from inception through production of the final deliverable reports. This will cover a range of projects from single-event assessments to multi-year projects and include the preparation and/or assistance with documents/agreements with the State Historical Preservation Office (SHPO), Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP), or other coordinating agencies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:  

• Master’s degree in archeology, anthropology, historic preservation, or closely related field (must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s qualification for Archaeology).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience completing cultural surveys, fieldwork, and/or construction monitoring.  
• Ability to become a registered archeologist in the State of Nevada and meet minimum qualifications as a Principal Investigator.  
• Demonstrated experience in preparing archaeological reports.
